Major roads in Mount Olive are notorious for dangerous intersections, traffic backups and the inability to cross safely. The study done in 2018 sits on a shelf while developments are approved and conditions get worse.
As stated by Dr. Antoine Gayles in the League of Women Voter’s debate on October 7, 2021-
I just want to remind the community that in my opening statement to this question, I indicated that the Township in 2018 conducted a study in partnership with the State Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation. So therefore, I’m encouraged that the state is very much interested in partnering with the Township to move forward on sidewalks in some capacity. Again, I will reiterate, let’s take that study off the shelf and bring all of the constituents back to the table and share it with the residents of Mount Olive so that we can have a productive conversation and move forward.”
